Darren Clarke admits he has to remain patient as he tries to recapture his form on the European Tour
The Northern Irishman, who has slipped to 52 in the world rankings, is eyeing a decent week in the Singapore Masters to kick-start his season.
Clarke is still searching for his first tournament success on the European Tour in over three years, but believes an improvement could be just around the corner.
The Ryder Cup star insisted: "I have just got to keep on playing and doing what I am doing.
"In the past I have tried to force things a little too much, but at the minute I am having to be patient."
The 38-year-old will play alongside South Africa's Anton Haig - the winner of last week's Johnnie Walker Classic - and young Englishman Nick Dougherty in the opening two rounds.
Clarke is the 2.48 favourite to lead the group after the first round, with Dougherty trading at 2.72 and Haig at 3.2.
Lee Westwood leads the market at 16 to win the Singapore Masters title, with David Howell next best at 18.5 and Clarke currently third favourite at 22.
