Phil Mickelson has been forced to withdraw from this week's Travelers Championship as he continues to struggle with a wrist injury
Mickelson played in the US Open last week wearing a wrist support but he was clearly suffering discomfort and missed the cut after struggling to 11 over par in the opening two rounds.
The world number two has now been told he needs to completely rest the injury for the next two weeks and will miss the tournament which will take place in Cromwell, Connecticut.
T.R. Reinman, a spokesman for his management company, revealed: "Phil will continue his therapy. He'll continue to be monitored by his specialist, and there will be a determination after that."
Vijay Singh is the 10.5 favourite to win the tournament, while David Toms is 16 and England's Justin Rose 17.5.
The 2006 winner J.J Henry is trading at 55 to repeat last season's success.
