Dudley Hart leads the field after the first round of the FBR Open in Arizona, after an impressive seven-under-par round of 64.
The American fired eight birdies in his opening round to leave him sitting at the top of the leaderboard, a shot ahead of six players.
Australian Aaron Baddley joins American quintet David Toms, Paul Azinger, Tom Pernice, Brian Gay and John Rollins on -6.
On a wet course with receptive greens, world number 122 Hart took advantage. He admitted: "The course was a little softer, obviously, after the rain and that always helps our cause.
"I hit a lot of good mid to short irons and gave myself a lot of good birdie opportunities."
Mercedes-Benz Championship winner Vijay Singh fired a level-par round of 71, with world number five Phil Mickelson eight shots off the pace on +1.
Sweden's Daniel Chopra leads the European challenge on - 5, while English duo Justin Rose and Brian Davis are both on -1.
David Toms currently heads the winners market, with the 2001 USPGA Championship winner trading at 7 to claim the top prize in Scottsdale.
Charles Howell III, three shots behind the leader, is available at 14.5 while Rollins can be backed at 19.5. Leader Hart is trading at 24.
Chopra, 34 to win the tournament, can be backed at 1.15 to finish as the top European while Rose is available at 1.67 in that market.
