Goosen fluffs his putter as second consecutive Tour win for German sees his Open price shorten...
As he makes the 90 minute drive down to Turnberry tonight, Martin Kaymer's confidence will be at an all time time high after he won the Scottish Open by two shots.
Kaymer was matched at [48.0] before a final round of 69 saw him pull away from joint runners-up Gonzalo Fernandez-Castano and Raphael Jacquelin.
Castano was matched at a low of [3.0] when he lead after the third round. Jacquelin, who climbed up the leaderboard with an impressive final round, traded no lower than [11.0].
Retief Goosen, who had been fancied earlier in the tournament, lead the way at one point on the final day but, though his play from pin to green was excellent, he was let down by his putting. The South African was matched at [2.02].
Kaymer had no such problems with the putter. He was controlled and assured on the greens, sinking five birdies during his final round to finish 15 under for the tournament.
This was Kaymer's second consecutive European Tour win after last week's play-off victory over Lee Westwood and his price in Betfair's The Open winner market has shortened to [32.0] following his victory.
