World number 16 Paul Casey has announced that he has parted company with long-time caddie Craig Connolly.
The Englishman has worked with Connolly for three years but despite claiming a top ten finish at the US Open, they have decided to split.
Casey revealed: "We've probably been getting at each other and it's best to keep your sanity.
"We were friends before we were working together so to save the friendship it's probably best to take away the golf."
The 29-year-old says he will made an announcement soon as to Connolly's long-term replacement, but Irishman John Mulrooney at this week's BMW International Open.
The pair have had temporary breaks in the past and Casey admits that benefited his game and hopes the same will happen again.
He added: "Last time it was good because I had a few weeks using other guys and then we came back and played some great golf."
Having narrowly missed out on the top prize last year, Casey is trading at 9.4 to win the European Order of Merit title - a market headed by Henrik Stenson (2.22).
Meanwhile Casey, who's best finish at The Open Championship is tied 20th in 2004, can be backed at 36 to win next month's Major at Carnoustie.
