Young Spaniard matched at [430.0] to take maiden European Tour title
Pablo Larrazabal won the Open De France after being matched at [430.0] on Betfair to secure his maiden European Tour victory.
The young Spaniard played a superb final round - only a double-bogey on the 9th prevented it from being described as flawless.
Larrazabal's inspired putting and ability to handle such a pressure-filled occasion was frustrating for the following pack which included Ryder Cup hopefuls Lee Westwood (matched at a low of [2.2] and) Colin Montgomerie (matched at a low of [3.0]).
Next stop is The Scottish Open followed by The Open for the Spaniard.
Having picked up a huge pay-cheque and plenty of ranking points, the youngster may yet make a late charge for a Ryder Cup place himself. Europe are still favourites to win the event in September at [2.02] with the USA trading at [2.28] and the tie priced at [14.0].
In the US, Kenny Perry traded at a high of [38.0] on Betfair before shooting a final round 66 to win the Buick Open by a stroke from Woody Austin and Bubba Watson.
Watson missed a 12-foot birdie putt on the last that would have necessitated a play-off, and he traded at a low of [4.0] on the exchange.
But Austin traded far shorter at [1.28], when leading by a stroke with two holes to play.
But he finished bogey-bogey.
Others to trade short on Betfair included Dudley Hart ([2.04]) and Daniel Chopra ([2.7]).
