Peter Chapple-Hyam is considering dropping Authorized back to 10 furlongs to take on older horses for the first time in the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown in July despite his Epsom Derby triumph.

Frankie Dettori had initially been keen to run in the Irish Derby, but having watched recordings of the colt's five-length annihilation of the opposition at Epsom he now agrees with trainer Chapple-Hyam that the horse would be equally effective over two furlongs less.
Dettori told reporters: "He ran just as good a race in the Dante as the Derby, in which he again showed a great turn of foot.

"Only time will tell if he's good enough (to beat older horses), but the likes of High Chaparral and Lammtarra managed to do it."
Authorized dominates Betfair's ante-post market for the Eclipse, being offered at just 2.12 to beat his elders.

Red Rocks is offered at 7.2, Dylan Thomas at 7.4, Notnowcato at 14 and it's 16 bar.
