Trezeguet extends Juve deal

David Trezeguet has dashed Arsenal's hopes of finding an immediate replacement for Thierry Henry by penning a new three-year deal with Juventus.

The 29-year-old had been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium following Henry's decision to end his 10-year stay in north London and move to Barcelona.

The France international striker opted to remain loyal to Juve last season despite relegation into Serie B for their part in the match-fixing scandal, but a turbulent season in Turin prompted pundits to question his long-term future with the Old Lady.

An offensive gesture made towards club president Giovanni Cobolli Gigli at the end of the season's finale against Spezia seemed to be the final nail in the coffin for Trezeguet's Juve career, but he appears to have buried the hatchet with club officials and will play at the Stadio Delle Alpi until at least 2011.

"I have made a decisive choice for my career and my life," he admitted. "In the last 15 days I've seen how much the club wanted me to stay and I decided to forget about the problems we had in the past and only think about the future."

In a developing market Inter Milan are the early 2.24 favourites to retain their Serie A title next season with city rivals AC Milan trading at 2.88, while Juve can be backed at 7.2 to complete a fairytale return to the Italian top flight and claim their 28th Scudetto.

The Gunners have drifted to 12.5 to win next season's Premiership title after being matched to small stakes at 9.6, while Arsene Wenger's men are available at 1.58 to finish in the top four next term.
