Liverpool were backed at [95.0] to hold half-time advantage on a day of goals in the Premier League. Joe Dyer reports on the betting highlights.
A 4-1 home defeat for Manchester United is highly unusual and some enormous odds were landed as Ferguson's men were humbled at home by Liverpool.
Rafa Bentiez's men were backed at a rather large [25.0] to win the game following united's early opener, and an even bigger [95.0] to hold the half-time advantage.
The home team were [1.12] poke to go in ahead at the break until Fernando Torres' equaliser. That goal ensured the draw was the favourite at [1.11] only for Steven gerrard's penalty to send Liverpool into the dressing room with the advantage.
Two more second-half goals for the Anfield club rewarded backers of the 'any unquoted' scoreline at odds of [40.0].
United are still [1.18] favourites to win the league, with Liverpool available to back at [13.5].
Arsenal have moved ahead of Aston Villa in betting on a top four finish following a comprehensive 4-0 defeat of Blackburn today.
Andrey Arshavin scored the first goals of his north London career but it was two late efforts from Emmanuel Eboue that rewarded those prepared to take a punt on a heavy home win. The Ivorian struck twice after the 87th minute to again delight backers of the 'any unquoted' scoreline at [55.0].
It was a similar story for those betting on a rare away win for Fulham at Bolton today. A late third from Diomansy Kamara saw backers of the 3-1 scoreline rewarded at odds of [60.0].
Who knows how important Middlesbrough's late equaliser at home to Portsmouth may be come season's end. With the final whistle looming Marlon King struck a debut goal to land in-running punts on the draw at [20.0]. The final score of 1-1 was backed at [12.0].
Hull ([3.5] to go down) missed a chance to break clear of the relegation pack when they were held by Newcastle at the KC Stadium. Geovanni's opener brough their odds in to [1.47] only to be denied by Steven Taylor, the draw was backed at [9.8].
Stoke are a shad of odds-on to play Championship football next season at [1.98] following their 3-1 defeat at Goodison Park.The correct score was backed at [22.0] after Marouane Fellaini's late third.
