Milan keen on Sheva return

AC Milan have confirmed they are ready to buy back Andriy Shevchenko from Chelsea as long as the price is right.

The Ukraine international has failed to live up to expectations since signing for the Blues from Milan in a £30million deal last summer and speculation has refused to go away linking him with a return to the San Siro.

Chelsea were tipped to romp to a third consecutive Premiership title last season, with the
acquisition of Shevchenko and German international Michael Ballack, but they lost out to Manchester United as the new arrivals both failed to have the desired impact in west London.

Jose Mourinho is expected to bring in some new faces over the summer to further strengthen the Chelsea squad and his men are the early Betfair favourites to take the title next season at 2.66, with United trading at 2.68 and Liverpool on offer at 7.2.

Although Shevchenko has revealed he is willing to stay and fight for his place at Stamford Bridge, it is thought he would jump at the chance to return to Milan if they came knocking, further disrupting Mourinho's planning for next season.

Chelsea, although willing to cut their losses, will not want to see him go on the cheap and want to recoup as much of the £30million as possible.
Milan are keen on a deal with vice president Adriano Galliani claiming: "With the right conditions, as we have said for weeks, we are ready to buy him back."

Inter Milan are also said to be keen but Galliani is confident Shevchenko will choose AC Milan if Chelsea decide to cash in.
