Sven Goran Eriksson's arrival at Manchester City could well end up influencing the price they trade at in the various Betfair markets for football's major honours.
City fans will be delighted that at long last they now have a manager in place as the club bids to end years of underachievement.
The former England boss is overseeing his first City training session today although he is not yet officially the club's new boss.
Sources close to the former Three Lions boss expect him to be named as the new manager on either Thursday or Friday of this week when the Thaksin Shinawatra takeover of the club is completed.
Shinawatra needs 75 percent to complete his takeover but due to the recent postal strikes he has yet to claim control although he is said to be very close.
Eriksson is meeting the City squad and he is expected to be followed into the club by long-time friend, advisor and coaching assistant Tord Grip, who will have a scouting role at the club.
Meanwhile, Roland Andersson, who has given up his role as Swedish national manager, is set to become Eriksson's number two as the backroom begins to take shape.
However, City fans will be now be keen for an official announcement so the Swedish tactician can begin his rebuilding of the squad backed by a reported transfer kitty of £50million.
Having been previously matched at a high of 1000 and a shortest price of 840 to win the Premiership, City are currently available at 910. However, a more realistic target in Eriksson's first season would be to finish in the European places with City available to back at 9.2 for a top-six finish.
