"Spurs slipped up in the Wembley spotlight like so many players have on the national stadium turf this weekend."
It'll be top Vs bottom in the Cup final this year as Portsmouth shock Spurs at Wembley
An extraordinary season for Portsmouth will culminate in a Wembley final alongside almost certain Premier League relegation.
The south coast strugglers beat Spurs 2-0 after extra time in a highly dramatic FA Cup semi-final. In an up-and-down run to the season-ending showpiece, Pompey have been backed at [500.0] to win the Cup. They are now [7.0] to lift the trophy in early May.
Spurs were well fancied to do the business in 90 minutes and were backed at [1.31] to do that, but they slipped up in the Wembley spotlight like so many players have on the national stadium turf this weekend.
Neither team were able to break the deadlock in an end-to-end 90 minutes and it was Frederic Piquionne who finally put Pompey ahead when he slotted through Heurelho Gomes' legs from six yards after Michael Dawson slipped over. Kevin Prince Boateng - once of Spurs - scored the decider from the penalty spot.
But it will take an upset of extraordinary proportions to bring the trophy to Fratton Park. Chelsea go into the final as heavy favourites - they currently trade at [1.17] to emerge as cup winners.
