Ahead of tonight's big game Marco Van Basten is not getting carried away and France defender Willy Sagnol says Thierry Henry is the greatest French goalscorer ever.

Holland manager Marco Van Basten is warning his team against complaceny following Monday's 3-0 thumping of world champions Italy.

The Dutch were sensational against the Azzuri, scoring two sublime goals as well as Ruud Van Nistelrooy's controversial opener. Tonight they face Euro 2000 winners France in what should be a mammoth Group C contest in the Stade de Suisse in Berne.

Van Basten said: "We played a good game against Italy but it was only one game. We have to come back with our feet on the earth and start again."

Van Basten believes his side have the focus and determination to progress to the quarter-finals but, he says: "It is always difficult."

Meanwhile, Arsenal defender Willy Sagnol has given a glowing appraisal of his French team-mate Thierry Henry:

Henry is tipped to return to Les Bleus line-up tonight after starting the 0-0 draw against Romania on the bench and Sagnol said: "Thierry is the best French scorer since football has existed in France. Even though he has had a hard time at Barcelona he is very motivated."

Sagnol was responding to critics who claim the striker is not the player he was with Arsenal. Henry has been granted only a peripheral role so far at Barcelona, scoring 12 goals in his debut season, but Sagnol said: "Thierry wants to prove to the French people and the Spanish people that he is still one of the best players in the world."
