Ben Davies: Hughesy is lethal in front of goal and in the dressing room

"Hughesy is our leading marksman this season, he's already scored two hat-tricks and is on his way to being the league’s top scorer."

The Notts County midfielder gets a cool reception from his former fans while hot, hot sauce wreaks havoc in the dressing room. Meanwhile, our man selects his best bets for Sunday's big game.

Last weekend saw me come up against my former club Shrewsbury Town for the first time since I left in the summer. We drew the game one all and I got booed throughout the game. We were disappointed to only take a point from the game, especially as we had enough chances to win during the second half. I was expecting the reception that I got from the travelling Shrewsbury fans. I am used to it now, and after a couple of minutes I managed to black it out. However, it was great to catch up some old friends.

We are all starting to get used to our new manager's methods now and I think he is settling in very well. Training sessions have been very intense and competitive, exactly the way they should be at a professional football club. Hanns is a very firm believer in the passing game and the lads are all really buying in to his methods and techniques.

In every dressing room there's a prankster. Ours is no different and there were some real goings on this week when Lee Hughes brought some extra hot sauce in. When I say extra hot I mean it. It was that lethal, all that was pictured was a skull and crossbones on the label!

As each player reported to the training ground Hughesy was waiting to give everyone a little sample of his sauce. Before long, gallons of water and milk were being ordered from the kitchen. Streaming eyes and red lips were not the end of it. A few of the lads accidently rubbed their eyes and as a result they were in agony and the physio room was packed.

Hughesy is our leading marksman this season, he's already scored two hat-tricks and is on his way to being the league's top scorer. He is a great finisher and given the chance will put them away every time. He is a very crucial part of our team but as a prankster he is unsurpassed.

After the kerfuffle over the sauce had died down, Hughesy and his partner in crime Luke Rodgers sneaked back in to the changing rooms during training and poured the lethal sauce into one of the lads' boxer shorts. Within ten seconds of putting them on he was running to sit in the ice bath for the next half an hour and was later that afternoon laid up in bed with shakes and sweats!

This Sunday sees the mouth watering Premier League clash between Manchester United and Chelsea.

As he plays in the same position as me, I've been interested to see Antonio Valencia enhance his reputation at Old Trafford. He's no Ronaldo but he is growing in stature down the right side of the pitch and has been chipping in with some vital goals over the last few weeks.

However, I don't think it will be Valencia's day on Sunday and my bet for the game is that Chelsea win at [2.08]. The score will be 2-1 at [9.8].
