Goals at Ibrox, the Emirates and Goodison are good news for the Total Goals Guys

It was difficult to put a foot wrong at the weekend with there being at least 2 goals in all the matches involving our teams.

We went for just the one at Goodison Park and Liverpool fans will be wondering if Sami Hyypia was on that himself when he fired one into his own teams net on 38'. Dirk Kuyt done the business for 2 goal backers from the penalty spot 9 minutes into the second half.

2 goals were sought after in the Old Firm Derby that we both attended on Saturday. In actual fact we got 3 and thankfully they all went to the home side. Nacho Novo got on the end of an Alan Hutton cross to nod home in the 27th minute before captain Barry Ferguson got a toe in between two central defenders on 55' to send the ball past Boruc for 2-0.

It wasn't quite so plane sailing at The Emirates where Bolton proved to be frustrating opponents for the league leaders who left it late to ensure they maintained their 100% home record this season. Kolo Toure fired in a 25-yarder on 68 minutes before Tomas Rosicky saved the blushes of the two goal backers, tapping in fellow sub Theo Walcott's cross, with 10 minutes remaining.

We fancied both sides to find the net in the tea-time fixture and sure enough it was 1-1 at Villa Park on 36 minutes as Wayne Rooney cancelled out Gabriel Agbonlahor's 16th minute opener. The header fired the hosts into an early lead before eventually going down 4-1.

Chelsea's 2-0 victory at The Riverside on Saturday, their first win there in 3 years, completed the clean sweep for us this weekend. Didier Drogba's cool early finish on 8 minutes sent the Blues on their way and Alex fired in a second before the hour mark with a set piece from distance.

All in it was a much needed boost for us and the bank is up 30% on last week to £59.33. It's been a frustrating few weeks and it feels good to be moving in the right direction again.
