If the Carling Cup doesn't quite get your juices flowing, then you need look no further than Italy for your mid-week football fix. There is a full programme of games, and this lot are live on Betfair Live video...
Inter Milan v Bari (Kick-off: 7.45pm)
Rafa Benitez hasn't exactly set Italy on fire since his arrival from Liverpool, but the Spaniard has made a solid start to life as Inter Milan coach. Two wins and a draw in their opening three Serie A games means only newly-promoted Cesena are ahead of them in the league on goal difference. Bari failed to find the net in their last game against Cagliari, while Samuel Eto'o has scored four times in Inter's previous three games. Back Inter to win at [1.47], and under 2.5 goals at [1.98].
Brescia v Roma (Kick-off: 7.45pm)
If Inter's start has been underwhelming, then Roma's has been absolutely dreadful. They have failed to win any of their three opening games, and got stuffed 5-1 against Cagliari in their second Serie A clash. Newly-promoted Brescia, like fellow new boys Cesena, have got off to a flying start. Wins against Palermo and Chievo mean they are currently third in the table and should fear no-one. However, loan signing Marco Borriello got off the mark for Roma in their draw against Bologna last week, so things are looking a little brighter for Claudio Ranieri's side. Back Roma to come away with their first win of the season at a very generous [2.5].
Lazio v AC Milan (Kick-off: 7.45pm)
Massimiliano Allegri has had a difficult start to life as AC Milan head coach. After doing his best to inject some excitement into his Dad's army with the signings of Robinho and Zlatan Ibrahimović, his side went and suffered a crushing 2-0 defeat against newly-promoted Cesena. After their disappointing mid-table finish last season, Lazio have made a better fist of things so far, with two wins and a defeat. However, with a potential front three of Robinho, Ibrahimovic and Ronaldinho, Milan will be a difficult proposition. Backing the draw at [3.25] could produce a tidy profit.
Lecce v Parma
A win against struggling Fiorentina has been sandwiched between two disappointing defeats so far for Lecce, while Parma have failed to win in their previous two games after winning their opener against Brescia. Parma have won two of their previous three away games though, and we fancy them to make it three from four tonight at [3.05].
Napoli v Chievo (Kick-off: 7.45pm)
Finally, Chievo may be above Napoli in the league, but after three games, it's only Napoli who have an undefeated record. Chievo have conceded a goal in all their games so far, and Napoli have only lost two of their last 21 home games in Serie A. The home win looks good at [1.7].
