Who was chasing Tottenham's Bale?
He's not the most subtle of people at the best of times, but John Toshack did his best to annoy the folk at White Hart Lane by revealing how Tottenham Hotspur were offered big money for Gareth Bale over the summer.
The Wales boss said: ""It was a big-money bid - it's big money to me anyway. You'll have to ask Tottenham, they know about it.
"Gareth is aware people are looking at him and people are interested."
He refused to go into any more detail out of "confidence for the people who have informed me." But what we want to know is, who do you think it was?
Juventus were rumoured to be interested early in the summer, and with a massive rebuilding process going on in Turin, they could certainly have been interested in the left-sided player.
Rafa Benitez at Inter Milan is also a fan, and some people have even mentioned Barcelona (they're short of a decent left-footer), and Real Madrid.
Could Manchester United have been looking at replacing one left-footed Welshman with another? Would Bale ever go? Does he have a price? Is he even that good, or just enjoying a good spell?
Let us know what you think of Bale and the rumours and we'll publish the best ones...
