Tottenham striker rejects Turkey move
Perhaps it's the view from the bench, all those different home and away kits, or just the good old north London air - but something is clearly keeping Robbie Keane at Tottenham after he apparently turned down the chance to join Besiktas.
With the Turkish transfer window not closing until 5pm yesterday (Wednesday), there was time after the end of the British deadline for the move to go through - but the Daily Mail report that Keane decided not to up sticks.
Their story says the Turkish club had filed the paperwork required for the move, and had prepared everything for the Irish international to fly out and complete the three-year deal.
However, it seems Keane - who is currently in Armenia with the Ireland squad - opted to stay at Spurs and fight for his place. And with Spurs failing to sign a striker in the summer, it looks like he may get more chances than anyone first thought.
Are you glad Keane stayed in north London? Let us know what you think below...
