Huddersfield will halt Cambridge's revival

It was only seven years ago that Cambridge United and Huddersfield shared a division but nowadays, while the Terriers fight for a place in the Championship, their hosts were recently in the Blue Square Premier relegation zone and look more likely to suffer another demotion than return to the Football League any time soon.

The FA Cup has provided respite from their gloomy league situation before - this is the fourth successive season that they have reached the first round - and further reason for optimism is provided by the fact that they have improved of late, winning their last two matches against bottom-half companions Barrow and Gateshead.

This is a huge step up in class for Martin Ling's men though and given that they find clashes with top-eight Conference clubs a tough enough task, taking just two points from seven such meetings, it's difficult to see them troubling a team who have defeated Southampton, Sheffield Wednesday and Charlton already this campaign.

Huddersfield look a very attractive proposition at [1.63] as they are unbeaten in their last dozen meetings with the U's, last losing to them in 1977. In addition, they've triumphed in five of their last six games in all competitions, with Anthony Pilkington, netting seven times in those encounters.

Another bet that has to be considered is the half-time/full-time away win when the market materialises, as 11 of the 12 goals that Lee Clark's side have scored in those half-dozen matches have come before the break.

Are we underestimating the U's? They've lost two in 18 at home and are [5.9] to back...
