Thursday's big Spanish cup multiple
Thursday's suggested bet: Back Gijon to beat Mallorca, Malaga to draw with Hercules, and Getafe to see off Portugalete for combined odds of [9.57]
Mallorca may be above Gijon in La Liga, but we fancy the home side to get one over the islanders this evening. In a run stretching back to 2004, Mallorca have won just two of their 14 away games in the cup, while Gijon have only tasted defeat once in their last six home games.
Mallorca are fresh off the back of a 3-2 defeat to 19th placed Real Zaragoza and should also lose this one.
After a stunning start to their season that saw them run out 2-0 winners against Barcelona at the Nou Camp, things have gone very wrong for Hercules on their return to La Liga. They are just outside the relegation spots having won just one of their last eight games.
They travel to Malaga who are currently bottom of La Liga having gone seven games without victory. However, with home advantage, we fancy Malaga to hang on for the draw after 90 minutes.
Portugalete? Us neither. Anyway, they are a Spanish fourth tier side who have done incredibly well to even get to this stage. They may be facing a Getafe side who have lost their last three La Liga games - conceding nine goals in the process - but the home side should easily come out on top.
