Real Madrid looking to win over the fans

Fair to say, Real Madrid are the massive favourites to win their match against Espanyol, with the visitors priced at a whopping [24.0] to pull off a major upset.

As a rule, Real don't lose matches at home. To the point where they have only lost one of their last 20 - rather upsettingly, to their sworn enemies Barcelona at the tail end of last season.

In that time, they have scored an impressive 61 goals, and conceded just 18 - which would suggest a 3-0 victory (at odds of [7.8]), as it was in this fixture last season, both home and away.

But that was before a certain Senor Mourinho took charge of the ship, and began infuriating the Bernabeu with his rather more cerebral brand of slow moving, thinking man's football.

Indeed, the biggest test for The Special One and his team will be to silence the Bernabeu whistles of discontent with the kind of emphatic victory that his demanding supporters came to expect from these kind of matches.

That said, just two years ago in this fixture, Espanyol did pull off an upset of sorts, by pushing Real to a 2-2 draw. Odds of a repeat of that look particularly juicy at [40.0].

Meanwhile, fans of the Spanish club's in-house underpants model may also be interested to know that Cristiano Ronaldo is pretty much expected to score, with odds of [1.75] to see his name up in lights.
