Back both Bayern Munich and Real Madrid

While there's still plenty of Dutch KNVB Cup action available for Betfair customers to watch on Betfair Live Video this week, the final two televised ties before Christmas take place on Wednesday night in the German DFB Cup and Spanish Copa del Rey. Here's what we recommend backing...

Stuttgart v Bayern Munich (7.30pm, ESPN)
These two sides met at the Mercedes-Benz Arena just three days ago with Mario Gomez returning to haunt his former club with a hat-trick in a 5-3 victory for Bayern Munich, their first in six on their domestic travels. The German international striker has been in incredible form after a mediocre first campaign with the champions, scoring 18 goals since mid-October and as Louis van Gaal takes the competition that he won last season seriously, the 25-year-old has to be fancied to net again when the market materialises. The visitors have progressed from 17 of their last 18 DFB Cup games, so have to be fancied at [1.78].

Real Madrid v Levante (9pm, Sky Sports 2)
It's no secret that Jose Mourinho shows more affection for domestic cups than most top-level bosses and his reward for that outlook is the presence of five winners' medals in his trophy cabinet. Iker Casillas and Cristiano Ronaldo were among the starters against third-tier Real Murcia in the last round and with a similarly strong line-up anticipated against promoted Levante in this round-of-16 first leg tie, it's no surprise that they are just [1.13] to triumph. They haven't quite regained their swagger since their schooling from Barcelona last month though, winning none of their three domestic matches since by more than two goals, meaning that Levante +2.5 appeals on the Asian Handicap at [1.88], especially as they held them to a goalless draw at home in La Liga.
