Day 55: We're backing Mallorca to beat Levante at [1.72]

There's more to La Liga than Barcelona and Real Madrid and we like the look of this Monday night clash between Mallorca and Levante.

Mallorca's 3-1 win against Sporting Gijón last week was the first time this season that the islanders have managed consecutive results of any kind. It's that kind of erratic form that has seen them pick-up only 11 points from their opening eight games.

The loss of manager Gregorio Manzano in the summer to Seville because of the same financial irregularities that saw them kicked out of the Europa League was a big blow to Mallorca, so some teething problems for new boss Michael Laudrup are to be expected. Manzano guided them to an impressive fifth in La Liga last term and Laudrup will have his work cut out this time to repeat those heroics.

They should get things back on track in this game though. Mallorca have lost just four of their last 22 home games - and two of those were against Real Madrid and Barcelona. With Levante winning only one of their opening four away games this term we can't see past a win for the home side.

Our bet: We're backing Mallorca to beat Levante at [1.72], meaning that - before factoring in commission - we stand to win £7.20 The same punt pays only £6 with Ladbrokes. Sign up for a new account now and have losing bets up to a total of £30 refunded for a week.
