Hercules set to pull off Trezeguet coup?

The latest editions of the top European newspapers are packed full of rumours, with David Trezeguet reportedly ready to choose a relegation battle in La Liga over a title charge in Serie A, Juventus chasing a Spanish World Cup winner and Schalke plotting another purchase...

David Trezeguet to Hercules
Perhaps inspired by Craig Bellamy, L'Equipe claim that David Trezeguet could snub offers from Liverpool, Roma, Aston Villa, Lazio and West Ham to join recently promoted Spanish side Hercules, because his girlfriend's family hail from Alicante.

Will it happen? The Frenchman is thought to favour a move to Spain, although it's unclear just how much substance there is to the suggestion that he wishes to sign for La Liga's relegation favourites.

Joan Capdevila to Juventus
Spain's first-choice left back has emerged as a target for Juventus, who are desperate to improve on last season's unacceptable seventh-place finish. The Italian club intend to hand Villarreal another World Cup winner in exchange, Fabio Grosso.

Will it happen? The Yellow Submarine are understandably reluctant to do a swap deal for the 32-year-old, especially not with an older player, as they judge this to be perhaps their last chance to cash in.

Zvjezdan Misimovic to Schalke
According to Bild, Felix Magath still plans on strengthening his squad before the transfer window closes and will bid for Wolfsburg attacking midfielder Misimovic if Steve McClaren's team buy Diego. Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has also been linked.

Will it happen? Misimovic is the more likely of the two to arrive at Gelsenkirchen having enjoyed a successful spell under Magath at Wolfsburg, however Wolves say they have no interest in selling.
