Group G - England to right the wrongs

This is not the easiest group England ([1.39])could have got after the trials and tribulations of South Africa. They can expect a bumpy ride along the way - but they should finish the group as winners.

Switzerland are second favourites behind the Three Lions to top the group at [7.0]. They qualified for the World Cup after topping their group and shocked eventual winners Spain in their first game of South Africa by coming away as 1-0 winners.

They showed that day they were capable of shutting out even the best of attacks, and England will have their work cut out to break them down. The two clashes between these sides will be crucial in determining the group winner.

Bulgaria ([8.4])may have made the World Cup semi-finals in 1994, but they are an entirely different proposition now. They have only won twice in their last nine games - and they were against Georgia and Malta. The Bulgarians shouldn't trouble the top of the table.

Since they lost to Russia in the play-off for Euro 2004 back in November the previous year, Wales ([16.0]) haven't even threatened qualification for a major tournament.
Wales do you have the likes of Craig Bellamy and Gareth Bale flying at the moment, and if Aaron Ramsey comes back in top form, they could be a threat. But winning the group, or even making the play-offs, looks beyond John Toshack's young side.

Montenegro ([18.0])are a decent side and will provide a decent test for all the sides in the group, but there should only be one winner.

Fabio Capello may already has half the country calling for his head, and a slow start could lead to even louder calls for him to quit his job. But the newish-look England are certainly the best team in this group, and at [1.39] should definitely finish as winners.

We reckon England will finish this group as winners. What do you think? Let us know below...
