Group F - Croatia will show true class
Neither Greece nor Croatia have enjoyed a particularly good time of things recently.
Croatia missed out on qualifying for the World Cup after finishing a disappointing third in their qualifying group, behind England and Ukraine, while Greece - who did qualify - crashed out in the group stages after losses to South Korea and Argentina.
Croatia coach Slaven Bilic decided to stay on for another two years after their failure to qualify for South Africa and he was rewarded - somewhat controversially - by his side being placed in amongst the top seeds for qualification.
In another group this may not be justified, but they should finish on top in this one at [1.87]. Since their failure to qualify for South Africa, they have gone eight games without defeat and should make it nine against Latvia tomorrow.
Greece will run them close at [2.6] though, and the first meeting between the sides next week will give a better indication of how things should progress.
Israel are next in the betting at [8.4], and begin their campaign against Malta in our Bet of the Day game tonight. Despite the poor quality of opposition below them in the betting, it's hard to see them overcoming Greece and Croatia to top the table.
Of the other three teams, Latvia are the shortest at [16.0], while Georgia are at [26.0], and Malta are out at [50.0] to finish on top of the table - but rather than looking for qualification, these teams will settle for avoiding the wooden spoon
We fancy Croatia to finish on top of the group with Greece close behind. What do you think will happen? Let us know below...
