Once a novice, now an expert...

Today's Lesson Learnt: 25% is quite a low percentage, despite what I used to tell my mum when I opened exam results.

After successfully flipping weighted coins last week, I decided to heed Echo and the Bunnymen's words that, "nothing ever lasts forever," and change track quicker than Lewis Hamilton.

Rather than going for all-out wins, I'm now going to accept a few losses but ensure that the value of my successes far outweighs the value of my loses. Binaries is actually the perfect outlet for this strategy, as one can automatically see how much can be won or lost straight away. So my policy is to buy markets with a percentage price of 20-25%. This could leave me with a 75x gain, relative to a 25pt loss. Hopefully, my judgement will ensure that more than one in four come home, and I will be well rewarded.

I'm a stubborn man, a man of tradition. I don't like changing my clothes for example. Hence my old friend Mr. FTSE is going to be the first market I dabble in, but I'm also going to have a crack at the Wall Street30 and something called the NASDAQ (I have no idea either.)

However, I will be avoiding Brent crude oil like McCartney is currently avoiding Mills, after taking it on a few weeks a go and receiving an almighty pounding. Never been a fan of losing, particularly when losing includes money. I've overheard people saying that trading is all about confidence. I'm not confident.

So how has it gone? I've had to be patient and wait for the markets to hit my magic 25% mark. My first bet, I mean trade, was on the FTSE100 daily Up and I hit buy at 23%. Which lost. I then did the same for the Wallstreet30 daily Up at 24%...which lost again. Blooody markets. Why did they have to choose today to behave so obnoxiously.

After two or three (or seven or eight) similar disasters, I was on the verge or a dramatic reappraisal. Yet lo and behold, my luck swiftly turned. I did the old mystery NASDAQ at 22% and it came in. Strategy vindicated.
