Andre Nel's heroics with bat and ball have seen South Africa's odds snaffled up ahead of the Second One Day International in Port Elizabeth (November 30).
Nel rewarded Proteas backers in the betting when he smashed nine off the last three balls - having earlier taken 3-46 in the New Zealand innings - to earn the hosts a two-wicket win in Durban and land the bets.
Current trends in the betting markets suggest that punters see no way back for the Black Caps, whose odds in the Series Winner market continue to drift.
Jamie How proved a sound bet in the top New Zealand batsman betting market when he top scored with 90 - including three fours in one Albie Morkel over - while Brendon McCullum and Scott Styris both pitched in with 40.
But star of the show Nel came back strongly at the end to claim three wickets and shift the odds in South Africa's favour.
Graeme Smith played a key role in the top South Africa batsman betting market and notched 44, but punters perusing this market may plump for AB de Villiers to land the bets after he weighed in with 87, while JP Duminy's odds may appeal after his 46.
Left-handed captain Smith now has 951 One Day International runs and he will again appeal to punters considering a bet in the To Score 50 market.
Kyle Mills turned in bowling figures of 5-25 and New Zealand supporters will be hoping he can deliver again as the tourists look to get back on level terms in the three-game series.
