India drew first blood in the five-match series against fierce rivals Pakistan on Monday and betting fans are sure to expect more fireworks when hostilities resume on Thursday for game two.
India rewarded their supporters who had a bet with a five-wicket win in Guwahati and their odds for a series victory have shortened as a result.
Mahendra Dhoni and Youvraj Singh both fired half-centuries to lead India to their victory target of 240 with three overs to spare and the home side have been installed as favourites for Thursday's clash in Mohali.
However, betting fans who have done their research will know that Pakistan enjoyed a 4-2 series success the last time the teams met in India, albeit in 2005, coming from 2-0 down.
However, India did avenge that defeat the following year, emerging 4-1 victors in Pakistan despite losing the opening match.
Punters who are not attracted by the odds in the outright winner market may fancy a bet on a number of markets available on Betfair.
Mohammad Yousuf's unbeaten near-run-a-ball 83 makes him a contender in the Top Pakistan Batsman market, while there are odds offered on a number of other bets, such as head-to-head match-ups, innings runs, toss combination and Highest 10 Over Totals.
Given the recent trends, a bet on Pakistan may be worth following at current odds as positives could be taken from their defeat, especially as Shoaib Akhtar is sure to improve further following his return to the side.
