The Windies skipper was part of the squad that was knocked out at the first round stage four years ago in South Africa, but expects a lot more this time around on home soil.

Despite sitting eighth in the ODI rankings, the two-time winners have shown some improved form in recent series and Lara is eyeing a place in the last four.

The 37-year-old said: "We have a very good record at home, and the players are really looking forward to this event. We have the ingredients to do well.

"We are looking to make the semi-finals and then take it from there."
Lara though is an injury concern for the West Indies having struggled with persistent knee problems.
West Indies face a tough start to their World Cup campaign, when they meet Pakistan in the opening game at Sabina Park in Jamaica on March 13.

Betfair punters though see the home side as 1.78 favourites to win Group D, with Pakistan trading at 2.32. Zimbabwe are available at 50 whilst Ireland can be backed at 220.
West Indies can be backed at 9.8 to lift the trophy on April 28, while Lara is trading at 24 to finish the tournament at the top runscorer.
