Picture perfect: Sachin Tendulkar continues in good nick
"Jacques Kallis is the player of the tournament so far contributing with both bat and ball so the obvious aim for Mumbai is to get him out as cheaply as possible and prevent Bangalore building an innings around him."
There's much to like about both Mumbai and Bangalore and the winner of this match will be in a good position in the standings. The wonderful Jacques Kallis and the legendary Sachin Tendulkar are just two of the stars on show and this could end up being a cracker, says Edward Hammond-Kenny.
Venue and Conditions
Game 14 of the IPL is at the Brabourne Stadium, scene of Yusuf Pathan's incredible 37-ball 100 for Rajasthan; a game which Mumbai only just managed to defend 212. The pitch is generally fair but if batsmen gets in, they can take advantage of the relatively short boundaries on offer here.
Team News
Barring injuries Mumbai are unlikely to change the team that beat Delhi by 98 runs on Wednesday. The bowling of West Indies duo Dwayne Bravo and Kieron Pollard was instrumental in strangling the Delhi innings and we have yet to see their best with the bat. Sachin Tendulkar will look to capitalise further on his rich vein of form.
Bangalore also come into this match off the back of a crushing win against Rajasthan. Dale Steyn finally found form with a fast accurate spell against the Royals, so with no need to bolster the bowling, Eoin Morgan should retain his place.
Match Odds
Unbeaten Mumbai are favourites at [1.78] with Bangalore on offer at [2.16]. Mumbai have posted over 200 in both matches so the key for Bangalore will be for Steyn and Anil Kumble to contain their powerful batting unit as best as they can. Jacques Kallis is the player of the tournament so far contributing with both bat and ball so the obvious aim for Mumbai is to get him out as cheaply as possible and prevent Bangalore building an innings around him.
Top Batsman
Tendulkar top scored with a rapid 63 in his last match but Mumbai's highest overall run scorer so far is Saurab Tiwary. This youngster has the style of a left-handed MS Dhoni and he averages over 50 in first class cricket so is a serious talent. He even sports the same hairstyle Dhoni used to have.
Kallis has top scored for Bangalore in all three matches so far. In fact he's playing so well no-one has managed to dismiss him yet. Only Manish Panday and Robin Uthappa have had a decent opportunity in the last two games and both looked in good form, Uthappa's 19 ball 50 against Punjab was an especially crucial knock given the game situation. It's hard to make a case for any other Bangalore player given we haven't really seen them.
Featured Market
There should be plenty of runs in this game and with batsman like Kallis and Tendulkar in top form you may want to back 'Over 68.5 Runs' in the Highest Individual score market.
Trivia
Jacques Kallis has scored over 45% of all Bangalore's runs on his own so far this tournament.
Best Bet
Ed Hammond-Kenny says: Back Saurab Tiwary to top score for Mumbai at [5.0] or greater.
