Trainer Stuart Williams has warned punters that his Hogmaneigh may not run in the Wokingham Handicap at Royal Ascot if the ground is too quick.
The four-year-old has been popular in the Betfair market since winning the Vodafone Dash at Epsom on Derby Day but Williams will not run the gelding should conditions turn against him.
"It's fairly obvious from his form that he goes well when there's a bit of cut in the ground and I just want to let everyone know that he's not certain to run on fast ground," the trainer told PA Sports.
"The horse is really well in himself and, given good ground, I would run him but we don't know what it's going to be like so I would advise people to hold their bets.
"He will be left in at the five-day stage and then we will make a decision later in the week once we have had a look at the ground."
Hogmaneigh currently trades at 13.5 for the six-furlong contest in a market headed by James Fanshawe's Zidane on 8.4, with Intrepid Jack also trading on 13.5.
