It's a battle between the Aussie heroes as Hayden meets Warne in a repeat of the first ever IPL final.
Team news
Chennai may look to shuffle their top order. Parthiv Patel is cowering in the shadow of his bulky opening partner Matthew Hayden and has managed only 46 runs in four innings. All-rounder Joginder Sharma must also be a doubt having failed to impress. He could be replaced by one of an army of spinners the Super Kings have waiting in the wings.
Rajasthan are likely to be unchanged after their stunning win over Delhi. That does not mean they will not shuffle their batting order, however. They have tried three different opening combinations.
Venue, pitch and conditions
There has been only one match at Centurion so far. Rajasthan beat Delhi in a game which totaled just 290 runs. Such low-scoring affairs have been common at the venue. The average first-innings score in the last two seasons in the domestic South Africa 2020 competition is just 140. Of the two matches due to be played there today, it is this one which best lends itself to backing under 310 match runs. The game is under lights and involves a side - Rajasthan - who have struggled with their batting. It is the stand out bet.
Match odds
This is a repeat of the inaugural final and if it is not too much of a pun, Rajasthan have the Indian sign over Chennai. They will be going for their fourth consecutive victory over them. That makes the [2.04] appealing, particularly with Shane Warne having consistently out-thought the big hitters at the top of batting orders in this competition. He is certain to have plans for Hayden, the top runscorer. For the overs they have faced Chennai have scored more runs than any other side, however,. Rajasthan have scored the least/
Top batsmen
Hayden is Mr Consistent. In Chennai's four matches he has top scored each time. However, because of the ineffectiveness of Patel do not be surprised if one from MS Dhoni, Jacob Oram or Albie Morkel are promoted. Morkel top scored twice against Rajasthan last season. Yusuf Pathan, in fine fettle after a brilliant innings against Delhi on this ground, top-scored against Chennai in the final.
Featured market
Thanks to Hayden's brutality at the top of the order, Chennai are one of the fastest scoring sides in the first six overs. Rajasthan are the worst. Keep your eyes peeled for value on the highest first six overs market.
