Team News
Kevin Pietersen was brought in to captain the Challengers and spice up a dismal batting line-up from last year but so far he hasn't had the desired effect with just one win in five matches. Going into this game the main talking point will be which four international players to pick. I expect a recall for Jesse Ryder with maybe even Kallis getting the boot. Dravid will also come in if he is back in time from seeing his new born baby. Kumble will lead the bowling attack again and if Kumar can find his range the Challengers will have a base to build on.
The Knight Riders haven't fared much better but any team with Gayle and McCullum heading the batting line-up warrants respect. Ishant Sharma should lead the bowling and you have to assume that they will keep the faith with Mendis despite getting a spanking in the Super Over and in their last match. The Knight Riders aren't far off being a decent side and this match is a great opportunity to get back on the winning track.
Venue, pitch and conditions
There was some pretty heavy hitting just a couple of days ago at Kingsmead and there is no reason to expect any different this time around. This place is made for big scores and we should be in for a cracking high scoring encounter.
Match Odds
Pre-toss expect there to be little in the odds with a wave of support as usual for the Knight Riders as the start time approaches. On this track they have a distinct advantage a far as I can see and may get to the toss as low as [1.8].
Other markets
KKR open with their big hitters whereas you can expect the Royal Challengers to adopt a slightly more cautious approach. As such if you can get anything around [1.8] on KKR in the Highest Six Over Total then that is a decent punt.
