Sri Lanka v England 4th ODI betting and odds

England take a 2-1 lead into the fourth one-day international with Sri Lanka and look a good bet to continue their winning form.

Paul Collingwood's men landed the odds in Dambulla on Sunday, rewarding punters who bet on them to chase down a total for victory after the two previous matches had gone to the side batting first.

The circus now moves to Colombo and betting on the home side in the capital has been fruitful in recent times as they have a formidable record, as they have landed the odds in seven of the last 10 ODIs at the venue.

Customers eyeing a bet should note the toss does not seem to play such a big part in proceedings in Colombo, as a bet on the team batting first will have paid out on six of those 10 matches.

Betting on England at Wednesday's ground has not proved beneficial as they have lost both times they have played Sri Lanka at the stadium in 1992 and 2001 but bets may go down on the touruists as they go into the game on the back of two successive 50-over victories.

Off-spinner Graeme Swann has been a revelation for England and could be a good bet at decent odds in the top wicket-taker market with seven scalps to date, while his 83 runs rank fifth behind Tillakaratne Dilshan, Owais Shah, Mahela Jayawardene and Paul Collingwood and he may be worth a bet in that market as well.

The odds on Ryan Sidebottom even playing in the series were not good after his injury woes but he fetaures in the betting for top wicket-taker with seven victims but Farveez Maharoof heads the betting with ten.

The ball has dominated the bat in the series but it is odds-on one of the big-hitters will come to the party soon.

Betting on Kevin Pietersen or youngster Phil Mustard could prove beneficial as the pair may well have a say on the bouncier surface in Colombo.
