England ended stubborn West Indies resistance to win the Old Trafford Test by 60 runs and clinch the series.
Chasing a record 455 to win, the tourists were eventually all out for 394, led by the irresistible force of Shivnarine Chanderpaul who ended unbeaten on 116.
Left-arm spinner Monty Panesar - the overwhelming 1.2 favourite on "Betfair's Test Series - Top England Wicket Taker" market - was again the pick of the bowlers on a morning when Liam Plunkett was not even risked.
Panesar picked up six second-innings wickets to finish with 10 wickets in a Test match for the first time in his career, the final one a stunning catch at short-leg by Ian Bell to dismiss Corey Collymore.
Steve Harmison, next best in the market on 5.3, also burst through the 200-wicket barrier in stunning style when he claimed Jerome Taylor.
The win gives England their 300th Test win and an unassailable 2-0 advantage in the series, while a 21st Test win for 32-year-old Michael Vaughan makes him England's most successful captain.
