Kevin Pietersen has said Peter Moores' ruthless new England want to "demolish" Australia when the two nations next compete for the Ashes in 2009.
Ricky Ponting's all-conquering Aussies swept the Three Lions aside in a 5-0 Ashes whitewash over the winter to avenge for their 2005 defeat to England - but star batsman Pietersen is desperate to get the prize urn back.
"Inside we're hurting and it's the same sort of pain we want to inflict on countries that tour England," he told BBC Five Live's Sportsweek.
"The way we're playing out cricket now is the way we want to play and the way we want to demolish Australia in 2009."
Pietersen has been in inspired form in the current series against West Indies, making 438 runs so far at an average of 87, including a Test best score of 226 and is the 1.31 favourite on Betfair's "Test Series - Top England Runscorer market" market.
The Hampshire ace believes coach Moores has instilled a ruthless streak among the squad.
He added: "I think the best thing about England's performances this summer has been the fact they we've been out there at the West Indies throats...we've shown we're not that bad at cricket."
