Chris Tremlett is confident home advantage will count in Hampshire's favour when they face Surrey at the Rose Bowl on Wednesday with a place in the Friends Provident semi-finals at stake.
Hampshire's crucial two-run win over Kent on Sunday saw them clinch top spot in the table with just one game left.
Although there are six counties still vying for the two semi-final berths in the South Conference, 25-year-old fast bowler Tremlett believes home comforts will see Hampshire prevail.
"At least the ball is in our court a little bit, and we know we are on top of the table," he said.
"We will play positively; we know we have been playing well in one-day cricket and we're normally pretty good at the Rose Bowl and hope to take advantage of that.
"We're confident in this competition. We're on a good run and hope, with just two or three days to go, we can take that confidence with us and build on that."
Punters are sure to keep a close eye on market movements ahead of Wednesday's crunch fixture.
Shane Warne's men are also certain to be prominent in Betfair's developing "Friends Provident Trophy 2007 - Winner" market as the competition reaches its climax.
