Draw trades at 1.02 before batsman's intervention with the ball...

With just two overs left on the final day and three wickets in hand, India looked to have done enough to avoid defeat in the second Test against Australia. At that stage the draw was being backed on Betfair at a price of [1.02].

But a stunning burst of spin bowling from Aussie batsman Michael Clarke in the penultimate over skittled out the remaining Indian batsmen to propel Australia to a 16th consecutive test victory.

First to go from the Indian rearguard was Harbhajan with no.10 RP Singh out next ball. With his tail up Clarke - who had never taken a test wicket in Australia - needed three more deliveries to take the final wicket of Ishant Sharma. The blonde batsman ended with figures of three wickets for five runs from 1.5 overs.

More importantly, before his stunning spell, the Baggy Greens had been backed at a high of 34 to win the match.

Another victory in the final Test would set a new record for cricket at this level. And according to betfair customers that is the likely outcome. The home side trade as [1.49] favourites for the third Test, India are available at [11.0] while the draw is [3.85].
