Veteran duo Ashley Giles and Darren Gough have called for England's selectors to pick Twenty20 specialists for this year's World Cup.

England have shuffled their pack for the Twenty20 and one-day games against the West Indies, as they seek the right formula after recent disappointments in the shorter versions of the game.

Both spinner Giles and paceman Gough feels they should go further than that and included specialist players in the squad for the Twenty20 showpiece in South Africa - taking place between September 11-24.

Speaking to the BBC after England's defeat to the Windies on Thursday, Giles said: "For me the men we are missing at the top of the order are Marcus Trescothick, who's an absolutely fantastic player in this form, and my Warwickshire team-mate and captain Darren Maddy - the most successful Twenty20 player in this country."

As for Gough, he added: "There's quite a few players playing in this Twenty20, I wouldn't have put in my specific squad.
"If we're going to do well in the World Cup in September, we've got to pick Twenty20 players."

After their recent struggles in the limited-over competitions, England are currently trading at 9.4 in the outright winner's market, which is headed by Australia at 3.2.

South Africa (5.4), Sri Lanka (7.8), New Zealand (8.6) and India (9) are all above Paul Collingwood's men in the betting.
