Allan Donald is keen to continue what he has started as a member of England's coaching staff, believing there is "massive potential" among the current crop of pacemen.
The former South Africa quick bowler initially joined the England backroom team for a five-week period, which was for the duration of the series against the West Indies.
However, that contract has now been extended and he will continue to coach the quick bowlers during the upcoming Test and one-day series against India, as well as being part of the setup for the inaugural Twenty20 World Cup in September.
England's Test attack certainly appears to have been given a real lift following the 40-year-old's arrival as they cruised to a 3-0 series win against the West Indies and are now being made favourites to win the series with India. England trade at 2, with India 3.55 and the draw is currently available to back at 3.9.
However, Donald is looking beyond the games against India and hopes to secure a full-time appointment later this year.
Donald said: "Whatever happens after the Twenty20 World Championship will be. I would like it to be a full-time appointment but right now I'm privileged to be given a further opportunity to work with this England team.
"My passion is to work with bowlers at this level. To have an opportunity like this is second to none and I'm excited about it. This unit has massive potential.
"I felt England had a good crop of bowlers before I came here and that has been proved right. There's good competition now and it's time for these youngsters to take the roof off English cricket."
