SPEAR

SPEAR is an eight week programme for 16-24 year old unemployed young people in West London.

The highly interactive course is run by experts in change management, education and youth work. It addresses the most common causes of underachievement, such as the absence of motivation, life skills, qualifications and opportunity.

Betfair has made an ongoing commitment to SPEAR to provide mentors, work placements and assist with mock interviews, as well as financial support to fund students through the course.

The SPEAR mentors play a vital role in the lives of SPEAR students for a variety of reasons. It is the mentors that ensure the students maintain the momentum they have gained over the eight weeks by providing encouragement and direction once the programme is over.
