Multipoker Hit By Swedish Government Claim
OVER in Sweden, the country's tax authority is known as the Skatteverket. And it has made a claim of €4.3 million against Multipoker.com, the country's online poker site.
Why?
Well, according to the Swedish National Economic Crimes Bureau Skatteverket, Multipoker.com's offices in the British Virgin Islands "were only a front".
And according to Skatterverket "all of the gaming operations were undertaken on Swedish soil, which is against the law".
