Craps Tips from Martin `Vegas Diceman' Green

Martin `Vegas Diceman' Green has been a professional poker player for 18 months. He has qualified through Betfair Poker for several major `live' tournaments, including the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

Martin started playing craps just over a year ago and decided he wanted to give himself the best chance of showing a profit. He has had many successful sessions in casinos such as the Bellagio, Wynn and Venetian.

Tips from the man himself:

I concentrate my bets on the pass line, the odds bet (behind the pass line) and the numbers 6 and 8. These bets have the smallest house edge. Always take advantage of the maximum you can have on the odds bet, as there is a 0% edge to the house!
I like to press (top up) my winning bets to maximize the potential profit from a long successful throw. For example, when I throw a winner for the pass line, I take around half of the profit and reinvest the rest on the next throw.
If either the 6 or 8 is thrown I again take about half of the profit and top up the rest again on that number. I continue this pressing theme until a nasty 7 is thrown and then start at the beginning again with small bets. This system can produce some spectacular wins.

Always start off having a very small percentage of your bankroll out in play and never bet more than you can afford. Also, don't chase losses.
Finally, when playing 'live' never mention the word 'seven' at the table or dangle your hands in the pit. As a novice in Vegas I was guilty of these crimes and got the `hairdryer' treatment from none other than the 6ft 7inch poker/dice playing legend TJ Cloutier!
