Rip Van Winkle works out at Santa Anita
The Breeders' Cup Mile odds have been particularly volatile this week as punters joust over the extent of Rip Van Winkle's foot injury. TVG, accompanied by Betting.Betfair's Graham Cunningham, discuss all the ramifications here
Is he ok, is he not? Aidan O'Brien seems to giving out mixed signals about his stable star Rip Van Winkle and Betfair punters have been reacting erratically to those comments as Rip yo-yos in the market.
When the ante-post market closed just before the draw took place on Tuesday morning, Rip Van Winkle was last matched at [2.86]. But since news of Rip's dodgy feet broke he has drifted out as far as [4.0].
Zenyatta, the unbeaten five-year-old filly looks to be Rip's main threat and has been steadily supported since her owners stated the Classic was the target earlier this week. From a high of [6.5] she was backed in to [4.2].
If you still aren't sure on Rip Van Winkle's 'Foot-Gate' we've got TVG to have a closer inspection. Watch the video below where TVG preview all the Works that morning from Santa Anita.
Part One - Includes videos of Zenyatta's arrival and Rip working plus a discussion of 'Foot-Gate'.
Part Two - Graham Cunningham and the TVG boys discuss the betting implications.
Part Three - The guys discuss the other horses in the Breeders' Cup mile.
