Interactif and Bridgetown will put up a good fight for the home team, but the suspicion is that the European juvenile form is that bit stronger, and the one who makes most appeal is Viscount Nelson, especially now that he's back up to 1m. Buzzword, near the top on ratings, may be worth chancing on the place market despite the worst of the draw.
Zip Quick: Limitations exposed since upgraded, not up to this class, and no experience of turf nor this distance.
Viscount Nelson: Has progressed by the race, successful twice at home in Ireland prior to second in Champagne Stakes at Doncaster, when promising more for return to 1m. Big player from favourable draw.
Codoy: Took 4 attempts to win a maiden but ran surprisingly well when chasing home Intercatif in Grade 3 on the turf at Del Mar. However, hard to see him reversing placings with cosy winner despite being the better drawn.
Pounced: Respresents John Gosden, who won this last year, and he's improving fast, second in Group 1 at Longchamp last time, able to dictate but still looking green. Leading contender on that form and could do even better upped to 1m.
Gallant Gent: Won 3 of 5 starts and still on the up judged on latest third to Lookin At Lucky in Grade 1 at this track (pro-ride). Unproven on turf.
Awesome Act: Jeremy Noseda sprang a surprise in the Juvenile in 2004 with Wilko who was also by Awesome Again, but this one's form is way behind that of the other Europeans, well beaten in the Dewhurst latest start.
Bridgetown: Gone from strength to strength so far and readily won Grade 3 at Woodbine (from Becky's Kitten) last time, looking straightforward (front runner) and willing. Plenty in his favour, including progressive profile.
King Ledley : Useful but exposed (won only maiden from 8 starts) in his time with Kevin Prendergast in Ireland and faces a tall order on his American debut, particularly as he's unsure to stay 1m.
Kera's Kitten: Two runs unbeaten, making all with something to spare both times, but the competition in those non-graded races was nothing like it will be here, and work to do to get to the front from stall 9.
Becky's Kitten: All the better for switch to turf, winning maiden at Saratoga before second to Bridgetown in Summer Stakes, but that still leaves him with plenty to find on form.
Interactif: The best of the home defence on ratings, 3 from 4 (seemed amiss other occasion), including back-to-back Grade 3 wins (firm and good to soft ground), the latest at Keeneland when eased down late to beat Codoy in a strung-out field. Ticks most of the right boxes but wide draw makes things tricky.
Buzzword: Godolphin charge whose form has levelled out (one place behind Pounced at Longchamp, then fifth in Dewhurst), but that still puts him right in the mix, and stepping up to 1m may bring more out of him, certainly bred that way. Not to be underestimated, even with stall 12 to contend with.
Reserves
Dean's Kitten :Two successes came at lesser level, and limitations shown up (fourth to Interactif) the once he tried Graded company.
Summer Movie : Benefited from blinkers and switch to turf when winning maiden at this track last time, but biting off more than he can chew now.
