I’m the Betfair Trader, so called because I write The Betfair Trader blog! I started the blog in May 2006 to try to save the money I needed to pay for my wedding. Something must have gone right because I got married in August 2007 and I’m now trying to turn my initial £1,000 starting bank into £101,000!
My blog entries are a combination of my own trading results as well as discussions on trading tips. So whether it’s writing about my latest wins and losses, or discussing stop loss limits, bankroll management and why we should all let wins run I try and mix up the topics to keep everyone interested.
I’d been betting and using Betfair long before I started the blog. In fact I’ve quite a history with bookmakers, spread firms and the exchanges. Even remember getting all excited about Flutter.com back in the day.
I’ve not always been a trader. In the past I’ve tried my hand at outright value betting, run a substantial arbing operation and also got semi-serious about poker. Down the years not all my betting has been successful. Especially in the early days of exchanges I paid to learn the lessons I now put into practice daily.
Although I trade a lot on Betfair I don’t consider myself full time. I run my own gaming related business and have done for the last 5 years or so. Being an ex journalist I also write some freelance articles when the opportunity arises.
Fortunately I do all this proper work from home though which gives me the opportunity – and excuse – to always have some sport on the box and a market or two open!
