Paul Krishnamurty doesn't anticipate any problems for the two time World Champion against Jamie Cope...

Provisionally world number one, Mark Williams came into this tournament with as sound form claims as anybody, and from an ordinary section of the draw, the Welshman represents a good value trade to win his third world title. More immediately, on the evidence of their respective first round matches, Jamie Cope is unlikely to present much of an obstacle in today's second round match.

For all his considerable natural talent, Cope has been poor this season. His victory over Andrew Pagett was one of the weakest first round matches, and the Stoke man should be grateful for being drawn against such a lowly ranked opponent. Even if Cope does start to find some fluency, I doubt he'll have enough tactical nous against an experienced match player like Williams over the best of 25 frames.

I'm expecting a one-sided affair, with the Welshman dominating the safety exchanges and capitalising on the frequent chances Cope generally offers his opponents. The best bets are backing Williams giving away 4.5 frames on the handicap, in addition to a trio of one-sided correct scores.

As far as the outright market is concerned, he's going to take the world of stopping at least before the semis. If landing odds of [1.23] against Cope, Williams will then be a very hot favourite again versus either Matthew Stevens, an out-of-form Mark Allen or rank outsider Barry Hawkins in the quarter-finals. While tougher opponents are bound to await from the semis onwards, he won't be anywhere near [8.2] by that stage and in any case, he hass no reason to fear anybody. An excellent season has seen Mark win the German Masters and lose the UK final in the deciding frame. Even when surprisingly beaten by Stephen Lee in the recent China Open, Williams served notice of his wellbeing with four centuries.
