Can Judd deny John a fourth title?
"On a run of nine consecutive tournament match victories, Trump must surely feel unbeatable, while Higgins’ amazing comeback against Williams gives him self-belief that he can clinch a fourth World Title."
It's a classic case of young pretender versus seasoned champion in the World Championship Final. So where is Alex Lee putting his money?
With the World Championship Snooker final starting at 14:00 today, the prospects for a thriller couldn't be higher if Michael Jackson were to rise from the grave.
Starring young pretender Judd Trump against old hand John Higgins, this classic southpaw versus right-hander contest should throw up enough betting and trading opportunities to keep any punter enthralled from start to finish.
On a run of nine consecutive tournament match victories, Trump must surely feel unbeatable, while Higgins' amazing comeback against Williams will have given him renewed self-belief that he can clinch a fourth World Title, which would edge him ahead of Ronnie O'Sullivan in the all-time winners list.
While Trump's safety play has been rudimentary at best throughout the tournament, his stupendous potting has swept him through to the final, along with some unbelievable flukes which have come as a reward for non-stop attacking snooker.
Trump will have to curb his attacking instincts at some point in the final if he is to ultimately triumph, as Higgins is a master of pouncing on the tiniest error and constructing big breaks from nothing. Having said that, Higgins' price before the start of [1.64] is, like Kate Moss, a little too skinny for my liking.
Finally, bear in mind that there hasn't been a 147 scored in this year's tournament as yet, and either finalist can clinch an unprecedented final maximum break to put the icing on the cake of what has been a fantastic competition.
As for the champion, expect Higgins to pick up the trophy, but only after a brave fightback following a spectacular surge by Trump.
