Second favourite out as Perry pulls off an upset
Joe Perry was backed at a high of [10.0] during his 13-12 quarter-final defeat of Stephen Maguire.
The Englishman looked to be going out of the World Championships after conceding the early advantage he'd held over the world no. 2. From an early dominant position, Perry was down 9-8 and 12-11.
But in a high-quality, nip and tuck game, Maguire - who was matched at [1.09] - was unable to grab the one frame he needed and Perry held his nerve to advance to the semi-finals.
